People who call DS generic and boring just don't understand storytelling at all and only care about flashy fights and animation, typical anime fans. If only people had more basic literacy skills, they would be able to unpack at least a fraction of the story's depth or at least understand the story on a surface level I mean c'mon. We really need more classes in school for this stuff. Anyway, anime is doing fine.

I don't think Vinland Saga needs the reinforcement to Life & Love vs Death & Hatred in the ending to come from Thorfinn! Even if he manages to stay as he is currently is and saves everyone into a "happy ending," we already know what happens to LNU and other Native Americans in the end! They are dead, enslaved, or forced out of their lands. Thorfinn managing to keep his cool, even he has to take down his Best friend and show his skill to the rest of the village/LNU would be significant growth for his character. He had to fight in every arc but now he has to fight both his allies (Arneind Village) and "enemies" (LNU). Forcing his way through his final obstacles to end the cycle of hatred in Vinland Saga for the Nords and LNU would be him achieving his goal (no matter what happens in the future)!

Thorfinn is such a huge inspiration to me because despite the task of trying to be good seeming so impossible, he tries his hardest to do it regardless. There’s no reward for his efforts, and he still moves forward. His pursuit of redemption and goodness and even the concept of having “no enemies” is in fact impossible, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try.

I love Berserk and i know this might be blasphemous but i feel like Miura was kinda milking the story dragging it out longer than it needed to be, and now that hes gone the entire series is cursed. What couldve been the best fantasy story ever made now wont be seen as that because there will never be a true ending without Miura ;( it was good while it lasted but the legacy is kinda tainted, the new chapters arent that good.

Honestly I think Griffith is a Better Villain than even Homelander and in terms of Scale he’s much higher because well Homelander is Just a Human with a Advanced Superpowers that makes him god like While Griffith is a Literal god that can Warp reality and do what he Wants! And Griffith acts like a Genuine good Person and he so Charismatic and Handsome you forget that he’s the True Villain! Plus Griffith actually wants to change the Entire World and Even all of Existence! By making a Utopia for all Humanity even through we know the he’s true plan is! Plus Griffith is meant to be Angelic looking while Homelander just looks like a normal Attractive Individual! Also Homelander acts much more an arrogant asshole we all know and hate! While Griffith often keeps his Composure! And acts like a Genuine great Leader not to Mention Griffith also Sacrificed all of his Friends to become a Literal god! Which is Way more Significant! While Homelander we know he was just born with his Powers! So What do you guys think do you agree?

Canute showing up in Vinland will not happen. First because it is not historical and second because there is no reason for it to happen. The most we might get is a conversation between Thorfinn and Canute in a epilogue.

so did you finish usogui? im like 140 chapters in and kinda mixed on it. first 2 arcs were quite enjoyable and had decent pacing, but labyrinth was not it tbh. felt slow and there was lack of tension. baku seemed borderline omniscient in that arc.

I just really hope there isn't an elaborate explained power system, the writing of VERY few manga survives their power systems being explained in great detail, or even having a hard set power system in general

I come back to Berserk once a year just to check how it is going, and I feel a deep sadness that I may never see the ending of it. It doesn't make it any better that the new chapter will probably be animated the same shitty 3D way like the last time

Not all storylines need to be completed for the story to satisfactorily conclude. I think one thing that's happening in the writing room is the discussion about what to include and what to throw away to get to the end efficiently without losing the pace. Everything so far from the new studio is dramatically pushing the narrative forward.

The big 3 of anime/manga is Naruto, Bleach and One Piece?? This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard, I find it pretty sad that most people have and "avarage" sense of quality and also be influenced by nostalgia, wich ends on mediocre and down bad stories like these being so famous and loved. I can totally understand you linking an anime because you watched as a child, but this dont mean that this anime is or was ever good. I tried watching naruto some time ago, the start is kinda interesting, but it loses track really fast, it all goes to generic themes and tries to hold the story for the most amount os eps so that it has a bigger auddience or whatever, and I think I dont need to mention why an endless story is bad... One Piece is another that don't know when to end, I don't doubt it has some good concepts and scenes, but you only get that if you skip a hell amount of filler and meaningless shit, wich in the whole run, makes the story one of the worst. I don't know bleach by any means so I can't say its bad or good, but I will say that this is the most believable one of this title and still surprises me. My personal big 3 of anime/manga are: Berserk Death Note One Punch Man You might not like them but you can't deny their quality, those are some of the best in story telling, character development and creativity of all time, those are unique and simply well made, way beyond the standard.

When i saw those first panels I was IMMEDIATELY reminded of Fujimoto's art style and it made so much sense when you said its made by one of his assistants. With how Chainsaw Man's art style is just dropping in quality by the chapter, I feel like this is what I really need right now art-wise. EDIT: As I look at more of the panels, it reminds me a lot of the Dr. Stone art style as well (mostly in the hair but also in the preciseness that isn't at all like Fujimoto's style). I would say that in my eyes this manga's style seems like a mix of Chainsaw Man, Dr. Stone, and of course some uniqueness that I can't quite place. Really excited to read this :)))

King Canute is my favorite character in Vinland Saga and in fiction overall. I really like the analysis and gave it a like already. While I do believe his role would be ecstatic even as a villain, I really want him to be one of the anti-hero troupe. I do want to see him parallel Thorfinn as the "peace through whatever means necessary" in comparison to "peace through peace, and violence at last". Makoto Yukimura still has a chance to use our boy after so much time. Please, do it...

Another underrated manga that is similar to Centuria is Sensou Kyoushitsu. You should definitely check it out its new and only has 16 chapters.
